Fulcrum Skill Share is a co-created gathering shaped and influenced by many people’s input, offerings, excitement, creativity & hard work over the past 4 years. Our focus is on sharing traditional, land based, ancestral skills as modern practices.
Our event structure is a co operative model that continues to support everyone as it evolves. At Fulcrum we honour ALL cultural perspectives while acknowledging the first peoples of the land on which we stand.
Let’s build a Village!
Everyone MUST purchase a Base Camp Ticket!
Base Camp Tickets support the whole Gathering. This year we are experimenting with a Tiered Ticketing system, and includes 8 meals , camping, useable resources etc.

Hi my name is Jessica, I am Certified Nutritional Practitioner, Certified Iridologist, Reiki Healer, Restorative Yoga Teacher, Ear Candler, Folk Herbalist, Musician and Artist. I enjoy navigating ways to weave these backgrounds together to result in unique experiences + offerings.
I look forward to guiding us through a meditative journey with my harp on Saturday morning.
Ever since 1716, when tea first came to Canada, the people of this country have imbibed of its magic elixir and enjoyed it’s benefits. Tea is magic. There is a beauty we can feel in our hearts while we watch the leaf as it unfurls in boiled water. These leaves tell us stories of its spirituality in the simplest action; and while we plug away at learning all its mysteries, we are completely under it’s spell. And still, tea mystifies us. Brew it too long and it becomes bitter, brew it too little and we miss out on its unique flavour subtleties. In this morning tea ceremony, Amy will brew several beautiful cups of tea for you. With each time she steeps the leaves of her favourite oolong, everyone can enjoy the subtleties of the flavours and the dance of the leaves. While we enjoy, we will have a short meditation to begin our day with love, joy, gratitude, peace and a blessing for the land. $25 per person, 12 person max, $15 from each registration goes directly back to Fulcrum Skill Share to support the bursary fund.
Ok, we know what your thinking , that stick figure is super flexible and there is no way….. hahah Well it was just an image chosen for fun! We will be getting together Sunday morning to stretch out our bodies after a long weekend of working hard and having fun.
Join us in the dome for some gentle movement, laughter, and core warming exercises.
Its dark, it may be a bit cool perhaps even a little damp…. your feeling excited but don’t quit know what to do or where to go. You see the fire glowing in the distance and it draws you in and you find yourself walking towards it. There is a warmth as you get closer, laughter, movement, and friendly faces meet you as you enter the circle…… maybe……. you find yourself i good company with the ones who circle round to tend these fires. You never know what medicine the fire will bring.
Becoming a fixture at the Skill Share is our Open Mic Night where folks can sign up for a time slot to share their passions, may it be spoken word, music & songs, performance of some kind, maybe you having a funny joke or story to share. We have had all sorts in the barn over the years.
We welcome you with open arms to participate in this festive sharing space with warm tea & snacks through out the evening.
You know we carry a lot of songs as a collective group of human beings. Songs travel like the wind across continents, cultures, and through the oral tradition of sharing and learning have we come to know many of these precious melodies. They warm our bodies, touch our hearts and create such beauty. To sit around the fire with friends old and new sharing in vibrations of sound is an experience that is held near and dear to many of us, It is these moments that inspire connection, learning, laughter and fire gazing. <3
~ Belonging ~
a space in which to be; a remembering…
Sage will be photographing and filming the happenings of Fulcrum Skill Share for the entirety of the weekend. She will be doing so through the lens of humble curiosity and deep gratitude for the land and Fulcrum folks. It is her wish to assemble a digital collection of beautiful, cohesive photographs to share with the community. She also intends to produce a short film that weaves together highlights from Skill Share – showcasing clips of each workshop and their participants, capturing the music & joy of the open mic night, and inviting folks to share stories on the concept of belonging.
This is a community-focused photography project. If you wish to be interviewed as part of the short film, please come find me! You can spy me wandering from workshop to workshop with my camera and exploring the village. During community lunches and downtime, I will be asking folks if they are interested in sharing stories or having their portrait taken for the project. If you are interested in collaborating in fun and creative ways, do let me know. I’m very open to ideas~

The gathering emphasizes traditional living skills from many different perspectives. It does this without subscribing to any one belief system, way of living, or ideology. OUR COLLECTIVE MISSION:
Each Gathering is a bit different as we take turns in the various roles and welcome new instructors to share their skills. We are excited to celebrate and learn from these talented makers who have put together comprehensive workshop offerings. Each workshop will have its own unique space. This year we have 3 types of workshops:
2 Day Immersive workshops (12 hrs)
1 Day workshops (6hrs)
1/2 Day workshops (3hrs)
Workshops will be broken up into 4 three hour segments between meals. This format aims to help us delve deeper into the craft while remaining focused and grounded. Preregistration is required as there are limited spaces in each area. Participants are able to come to the gathering by just purchasing a base camp ticket and enjoy observing all the activities, if there happens to be an extra space at this point, they can arrange exchange with the instructor onsite
You are also welcome to bring a self contained project that you can work on at your leisure during the gathering . It creates pure magic when everyone is so focused and intentional.
This is an ever changing experimental facet of our gathering and we look forward to engaging in dialogue around how it works and what we can do to make our gatherings accessible and supportive to everyone.
BASE CAMP CONTRIBUTION: Supports site preparations, sustainable land practices, food, materials & organizational costs. This year we are experimenting with tiered ticket pricing. This model allows for everyone to pick what price suits their financial standing. The idea here is that the higher priced tickets allow for lower priced tickets to be available. It also helps us to consider each other and how we can best support our community members. Due to the cost of food and expense costs we have had to increase our ticket price slightly this year. Last year we started a Bursary Fund and have 8 spaces available to those who need further assistance. This year we will raise funds for next year. All proceeds are put towards maintaining and contributing to the landscape for future gatherings, community workshops and generations to come…
WORKSHOPS FEES: Workshop fees are a way to support instructors in being able to share these skills. Each instructor sets their workshop fee according to their material costs, preparation times, & personal values of energy exchange.
KIDS: Children & Youth are an important facet of our social fabric, they are the ones who carry us forward. We have made it a priority this year to make several spaces where all ages of children will have something to explore. Our tiny kids camp area will have several stations/activity centers open to engage with while being supervised. Our outdoor forest school program is for kids 6-12 years of age and is sure to be a loot of fun!~ Our Teen Bushcraft Camp will challenge our older youth ages 12- 18 to co operate in a survival skills environment that fosters their connection to nature, themselves and one another.
Young children (under6) must always have adult supervision.
VISITORS: We would like to offer the opportunity for people to come and check out what we are up to at the Skill Share. A Day pass allows people to come and explore the nature of our gathering and have an inspirational outdoor experience. Take a tour of the workshops and have a tea around the fire
REFUND POLICY: Out of consideration for organizers and workshop facilitators we hope that everyone carefully considers their ability to attend in advance of purchasing tickets. If you are unable to attend, please kindly find someone to sell your ticket to or gift it to a friend. We have a no refund policy. If for some reason the event is cancelled due to elements beyond our control we will refund half of all tickets. Please get in touch if something comes up for you and we will see if we can help.
We will come together for breakfast, light lunch, and dinner as a large group, and have the option of listening to a talk or watching a demonstration while we eat at the lunch hours. Everyone is asked to come prepared and bring their own camp dishes and cutlery. There will be a dishwashing station to clean up as well as snack station and food donation. Everyone is also invited to bring a salad green, bread and or fruit contribution to support our Counter Culture Kitchen. We are very fortunate to have an amazing Kitchen staff this year who will be creatively preparing vegetarian cuisine. If you have special needs or dietary restrictions, we do ask that you come prepared to supplement your meals accordingly. If you eat meat, please feel free to bring some and cook it over the fire.
This is a campout styled gathering, which means you need to come prepared for all weather conditions. We are very fortunate to have many amazing buildings and shelters to work with and explore on the property. Our toilet situation is a workshop that everyone gets to attend. We are working with a humanure composting system that is a fertile way to transform our droppings into compost so that in the future we can use the to feed the fruit trees. This action allows us the opportunity to reflect on how we view our “waste” and see how this ‘not so alternative method’ can help us connect to the land & cycles of life. Thermophilic bacteria are super cool, we mean hot!~
We are looking forward to having a group of dedicated folks on the land for one week before the gathering. We will be activating some long term land projects and preparing the spaces for the gathering. We are invited to explore our relationship to the environment with this time; setting the scene & laying the foundation for a village to be built.
There are many ways to engage with the gathering. Perhaps you want to observe and bounce around helping out where you can. There are many special tasks that need doing, and there is a sense of purpose and humbleness that comes with being in service to others. Become part of a team in supporting the event function. This type of experience fosters meaningful relationships and skills in surprising areas. It might even take you on an adventure up the mountain. There is a limited number of extended volunteer positions. Everyone will be encouraged and have the opportunity to sign up upon arrival for a volunteer shift. A Village is supported by everyone who lives in it!~
The Makers Market is a space where everyone is invited to share their wares. Please feel free to bring what it is that you create to participate. This Spring will have a new weather proof market area! We look forward to appreciating your craft.

Our family of four had an amazing time at the skill share weekend! I am so grateful for you, your land, visioning and organization, and all the beautiful beings involved. I loved that both us, parents, and our children could be part of it! We all felt at home and so nourished by the food, community, land and skill share. Everything felt so well organized and flowing.
Last year was the first time I attended Fulcrum Skill Share and the memories are stored in my body, mind and soul as such precious gifts. Weaving, singing, standing and being held in such a gracious gathering of talented and gifted people gave me hope, inspiration and motivation to advocate for heart driven intentions that had been a little neglected in me.
