Deerly Departed – 5 Day Mini Mentorship

$555.00

Deer ones,

This workshop series is designed to help us explore the nature of death and dying through working with the Deer as Allies. And is a representative and condensed form our longer 6 month Deerly Departed Mentorship Program.  We will move through 5 domains, one for each day onsite: Physical, Mental, Emotional, Spiritual & Practical. We will be actively engaging in the skill based processes of: hide tanning, crafting deerskin into brain tan buckskin, making bone tools and exploring the wide range of uses the deer parts offer us. Such as: tallow candles, hide glue, sinew, rawhide, bone char, hooves, cranium keys, blood, hair etc…  We work with all the parts here.

Description

“Listening deeply we open ourselves to the potential of the unknown…the mystery…the magic…and ways of communicating beyond words. It is here we may find keys of connection that unlock doors to parts of ourselves that remain hidden, cloaked by the blind eye. With reverence we honor these findings and the Deer Ones by giving our focused attention to bear witness through the process, May we allow ourselves to receive insight into the ways of our being, crafting a culture of kinship.”

Deerly Departed 5 day mini mentorship is a touch point version of a larger ongoing program that we offer throughout the year at Coyote Tales Farm Studios. In this version of our program we will be crafting a series of meaningful objects that we can carry as ritual tools of transformation. Our container invites: space for discussions, group work and individual reflective practices that are anchored in communication and integration. Through hands on, process based work we will explore reciprocal relationship, ancestral wisdom and subtle energy dynamics.

We are called to consider the deer beyond the sum of their physical parts. Each day will correlate to one of 5 Domains: Physical, Emotional, Mental, Spiritual & Practical as we move through an imaginal active dying process over our time together, inspired by the best three months practice developed by Tarron Estes of the Conscious Dying Institute. This immersive container actively engages with deer consciousness, attunes our nervous systems and build bridges between worlds through process based learning and activation.

Our flexible schedule makes time for rest, silence and encourages us to soften our gaze of the world around us. These moments of listening are integral to our experience. The tools we create and flow of this mentorship are grounded in cyclic principles, and focuses on death and dying in particular to aid us in our journey towards embracing death as a sacred time of transition, honouring life and invites us ti relax into the mystery that encompasses it all. This deeply reflective process, combined with hands-on skill development fosters and cultivates meaningful relationship with the Deer, one another, ourselves, and the natural world we are all a part of. May we offer ourselves to this practice with grace and gratitude. Grief lives in every moment

You will also have the opportunity to continue adventuring with your new tools and skillset over the Fulcrum Skill Share weekend. Activate  your rawhides by transforming them into drums with Bilijana & birthing Skin Footwear out of your buckskin with Steve.

May we honour the gentle ways, the fierce whispers and be guided by our intuitive senses inside and out !~

Dinner is provided each day, we will collectively share the cooking space together. Please bring food for your breakfasts and lunches. More details of what you need to bring will become available upon registering. Proceeds from this workshop will go towards supporting experimental initiatives involving local community groups and continuing to offer free programming in this area. If cost is a barrier, please reach out—we’re happy to work something out with you! 🙂 af.muse@gmail.com

This year, we’re excited to expand Skill Share into a week-long Gathering! Throughout the week, the land will be alive with creativity, as people practice their crafts, work on projects, and come together to prepare for the Fulcrum weekend. We invite you to join in, connect, and be part of this growing community!

We are forever grateful to be holding this space as we shift our values, honour the gifts we are given and question the nature of the world we are living in together as a group of individuals. Moving towards embracing collective mindsets, co creation and crafting a culture based on mutual support, reciprocity and kinship.
