Village Life

"It takes a Village, to make a Village!"

Collective Action

Fulcrum is more than just an event—it is a living, breathing community that extends beyond our time together each spring. The knowledge, relationships, and experiences we cultivate ripple outward, shaping our lives and the communities we return to. The connections forged with friends new and old brings a familial feeling. to the collective space.

As we gather, we honour the diversity of perspectives, talents, and energies that each person brings. Whether through hands-on skill-sharing, deep conversations, or moments of quiet reflection, we weave a tapestry of learning and mutual support. By embracing the full spectrum of our humanity—our joys, challenges, and curiosities—we create a space where growth and transformation can flourish.

Together, we are not just participants but co-creators of this village, building something that continues to evolve long after we part ways. The magic is real, and the learnings can last a life time or more!

Fulcrum is a Campout Style Gathering...

Please come prepared to be in a camping environment, the weather can range from cool, and wet to sunny and hot.  Even though we have many luxuries here, like running water and shelter it is important that we bring what we need to be comfortable.  All meals are included in the experience at Fulcrum and we value the mealtimes of breakfast lunch and dinner for social connection, resting and nourishment.

The camping is field to forest and there are a variety of different zones to set up camp. Quiet time is generally 10pm. Saturday evening open mic night and jam it may be 11pm. We have a few kinds of farm animals onsite, we ask that you are respectful of them by driving slowly when dropping off your gear. There is lots of space for car parking.  Ride sharing is always a fun way to come to a gathering so check out our facebook group for possible ride sharing opportunities. We look forward exploring and skill building with you this spring!

The stars are amazing to connect with out here!

Fulcrum Location

Fulcrum Skill Share takes place at Coyote Tales Farm Studios near Bancroft, Ontario. Accessible by car, bike, horse or walking. Length of travel varies depending…

Known as the Mineral Capital of Canada This is a rural area and rolling hills rests in what is known as the Archaean rock region and on what is considered the Canadian shield. This land, now known as Carlow/ Mayo Township, is the unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe people, who have lived here since time immemorial. In the late 1800s, Irish settlers colonized this area, yet the Indigenous presence, stewardship, and connection to this land persist to this day. We acknowledge the ongoing relationship of the Algonquin Anishinaabe peoples with this land and recognize that it was never ceded or surrendered. How We Roll...
Collective Agreements

Fulcrum is a family friendly event that aims to value everyone for where they are at in life. We do however have some key agreements  that we would like you to consider in regards to participating. These agreements are set in place for us to have a touch point of common grounding and create a safer environment for everyone at the gathering. Please take a read through below.

Feel free to reach out with any additional reflections, questions, concerns and or considerations to add to the pot.

  • Based on our core principles we ask that you be mindful of how you engage with the space, the place and one another.

  • Consent is key, ask, when there is a clear “yes” (silence does not mean yes) this includes asking to borrow tools, touch someones project or physical body, and engaging in conversation, being mindful that someone may not have the interest or capacity to continue conversing about a triggering topic. Check in, ask. Are you interested in this conversation? It is ok to say no, practice your boundaries.

  •  Fulcrum is a family friendly event. We generally keep consumption to a minimum in all respects, this includes the use of drugs, alcohol and smoking, we would prefer to keep and clean and clear space as we gather. Moderation and self awareness please. We would like to be considerate of those who are sober living and be as safe as possible onsite considering we are working with sharp, hot, pokey, uneven, potentially flammable and dangerous things that deserve our respect. (there will be a designated smoking area onsite)

  • Please keep SHARPS in a shield and or closed container, this includes: knives, pins, sewing and felting needles, awls, and other tools that may hurt someone. There is nothing wrong with a child holding a knife as long as they are being supervised and have some idea of what they are doing 😉 a 3 year old with your machete, not ok.

  • All children must be supervised by an adult at all times, take turns watching each others kids but make sure someone is watching them please even though we are all watching them together.

  • Check in with yourself. What are your needs? Take account of your energy levels, your hunger, water intake, rest and mental capacity as you move through the weekend. If you need something please ask someone to help you, this includes emotional aspects, we have lots of friendly folks here who are point people to talk to if you need that.

  • Fulcrum Skill Share is an LGBTQ friendly community, please be mindful of how your gender assumptions could effect other human beings.

  • Fires are only to be had in designated areas, please do not make personal camp fires anywhere.

  • Please park and drive only in designated areas. Not across the fields where you could damage your car.

  • Do not enter the field where the horses live that is their electric boundary and for your safety, no matter how many horses you have had in your life or how good you think you are with animals.

  • Wild crafting or harvesting is not permitted onsite without the invitation to do so by an instructor.

  • No living animals are to be brought onsite without permissions given directly by the property care taker. Please get in touch with them via email.

  • If any conflict arises please find an organizer immediately, we are here with skills to help.
