Bushcraft – Working with the Woods

$60.00

From Splitting boards to joining beams, this workshop empowers participants to create waterproof exteriors right from the source. Using hand tools with trees, we explore the traditions of shingle making and the work of the woods.
Together we will saw, split, and join wood using a variety of human-powered techniques. Be prepared to swing mallets, pull saws and fit boards as we raise sheltered space from scratch.
Bring your trusty hand tools and your experience, or come empty handed and willing to learn; this workshop is suitable for both beginners and seasoned woodworkers alike.

Dylan Paczay

I am moved towards harmonious alternatives to modern ways of living. Inspired by the natural world, I quest to make resilient life paths accessible for myself and to those around me. I have passion for transforming freshly fallen trees into useful tools and structures. I was raised around my father’s construction company and my teen years were spent at our family’s essential oil farm. Now and for the past 9 years, I’ve taught at outdoor schools in the Guelph area. Pushing my capacities as a craftsperson has brought me to study glassblowing at Blown Away, complete the tool and die program at Conestoga College, explore the depths of bushcraft, and opening a machine shop in Wellington County.
