Join me for a shared exploration of bees, wax, and flame.

We’ll take a look inside the beehive — how bees organize, build, and create the wax that becomes light. I’ll share practical knowledge about bees and beekeeping, and then we’ll transform beeswax into candles by pouring molds and dipping tapers by hand.

This is less a formal class and more a communal exchange — a chance to gather, learn, and leave with something handmade and luminous.

You’ll leave with a small collection of light:
a pair of hand-dipped taper candles, a molded beeswax candle, and a softly glowing luminaire to carry the warmth of the hive home with you.

Talli Chaimovitz

More than 20 years ago, Talli left the city for the hills and began a life rooted in nature. Homesteading became her everyday rhythm — growing, harvesting, and preparing plants for teas, tinctures, ointments, and soaps — while deepening her love for bees.

What began with beekeeping soon evolved into crafting beeswax-infused salves, small-batch cold-process soaps, and hand-poured candles. Her soaps are made with pure plant oils, botanicals, and essential oils, naturally coloured by herbs and clays, with beeswax added for a hard, long-lasting bar. Herbal salves are infused with organic botanicals and set in nourishing oils and beeswax to soothe and protect.

Whenever possible, ingredients are wildcrafted or gathered from her own garden. Like chandlers before her, each candle is hand poured, hand dipped, and hand finished in her humble studio in Combermere, overlooking the Mighty Madawaska River at the forest’s edge.
